RED Hydrogen One specs leak as launch approaches

The RED Hydrogen One is finally set to start shipping preorders this week, following a few delays. But if you can’t wait until then, the full spec sheet for the phones has leaked a bit early through a new infographic, via UberGizmo.

The sheet doesn’t mention it, but RED previously announced that the Hydrogen One will ship with last year’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chip, instead of the newest Snapdragon 845, which is a bit disappointing since it’s a $1,195 smartphone.

But there are also features that make the Hydrogen One more unique, like the so-called “4V” display that will offer some kind of “holographic” view, although RED has been coy about how exactly that tech works. There are also details on the cameras that will be able to shoot the 4V stills and video: dual 8.3-megapixel lenses in the front and dual 12.3-megapixel shooters on the back. Rounding things out is a POGO pin connector for attaching modular add-ons, although details on those are still slim.

It is more than a little bizarre that RED is shipping phones to customers this week without officially revealing the full specs. But considering all the people who preordered already spent a minimum of $1,195 sight unseen for the Hydrogen One, it’s unlikely that any actual numbers will make much of a difference to the first wave of owners.
